Analysis

What really separates these two

Refresh: 360 Hz against 240 Hz

Both respond in 0.03 ms, so the difference is only how often the image is renewed: a frame lasts 2.78 ms on the Alienware and 4.17 ms on the ASUS. You only benefit if your game runs above 300 FPS, like CS2 or Valorant on a strong PC. According to our input lag calculator, the jump removes about 0.7 ms of average wait: real, but small. Where you notice it most is motion clarity when you flick the camera.

Panel: matte QD-OLED against glossy WOLED

The Alienware has a matte coating, which copes far better with a lit room or a window behind you. The ASUS is glossy: blacks look deeper and text crisper, but it reflects lamps and windows. Colour is even (99.3% against 99% DCI-P3). The Alienware is certified DisplayHDR True Black 400; ASUS only states HDR support.

Stand, ports and warranty

The Alienware's stand adjusts height, tilt, swivel and pivot, and its 3-year warranty covers burn-in. The ASUS also gives 3 years and adds anti-flicker, OLED Care and a dedicated heatsink. For ports, the ASUS has two HDMI plus DisplayPort, handier if you also plug in a console; the Alienware has DisplayPort, HDMI and USB.

Verdict

If you play CS2 or Valorant above 300 FPS in a room with light, the Alienware AW2725DF. If your PC stays at 240 FPS or below, you play in the dark and want the deepest image, or you need two HDMI ports for a console, the ASUS ROG Strix XG27AQDMG.
