The Edge doesn't fix the cause — it still uses potentiometers — but it does fix the consequence: the sticks are complete modules that unclip and can be swapped for official spares. It's a maintenance solution, not a technology one, and that's worth knowing before paying what it costs.
You can physically set how far each trigger travels. In a shooter, shortening the travel means firing sooner; in a driving game, the full travel lets you modulate the throttle. Being a mechanical stop rather than a software setting makes it more consistent.

Valorant isn't on PS5 and neither is CS2, so this controller sits out for both of this site's reference tactical shooters. If you play console shooters, the adjustable trigger travel and configurable dead zones do help.
On PS5 it's the best official option for Rocket League: the back buttons give you air roll and powerslide without leaving the sticks, and profiles let you keep a setup just for this game. The weak point is still the potentiometer: with the hours Rocket League puts on sticks, drift is a matter of time — though here you fix it by swapping the module.
Comfortable and with the best haptics in the category, though its pro features add little in a game like this. If your Minecraft is on PS5, it's the nicest controller you can use.
Roblox isn't this controller's stage, and its price is hard to justify for that use. Any of the best-value controllers in this category does the same job for far less.

So first of all I was extremely skeptical about making this purchase because of its price and being scared that this remote wasn’t going to be exactly what all it’s cracked up to be . Before this controller I have owned 7 modded controllers . I have had scuf from impact to reflex . And yes they were great and their digital l2 R2 triggers were godly in FPS games, but they felt cheap in hand and most of all they would brake every time after 5 months or a year . My most recent scuf I had was 4 months ago . I just spent 285$ on it for my ps5 . 4 months later L2 took a dump on me and I lost my mind . Ordered on March 1, 2023, Today is August 7, 2026. I have the White DualSense Edge, Black Was not Created/Available. This is by far the Best Controller I have ever owned, I have big hands so this controller fits nicely, Got it for PC because a PS5 at that time was hard to get. Controller did the job on PC never had any Connection issues on PC with Sony giving updates threw the PS Accessories App and Steam. Finally As of Today I now own a PS5 and this Controller Just got better being Fully unlocked with a PS5. Honestly, I don't know how I have lived without this controller! The extra adjustments on the controller itself are a game changer (pun intended)! Adding the extra buttons the you can assign to any other button on your controller is a very nice feature! I don't know how many times I have died in a game due to hitting the wrong D-Pad button! Where I was misinformed, and something I wish they would incorporate, is the two extra buttons can only be assigned to existing buttons.
