A control pad brakes too much and a speed pad forgives nothing. The hybrid surface aims for the middle: little resistance when you start the movement and a bit more grip at the end of the travel. It's the most balanced answer for anyone mixing flicks with tracking.
On a poorly woven cloth the mouse glides differently horizontally than vertically, and that quietly breaks your muscle memory depending on the direction of a flick. Glorious puts uniformity at practically 100%, which means the same gesture covers the same distance whichever way you move.
3 mm absorbs desk irregularities without being so soft that the mouse sinks in and drags. It's the thickness most tactical shooter players prefer over the 4-5 mm pads built for wrist comfort.

Fields with no data show as “—”: it means neither Amazon nor the manufacturer publishes that figure. We'd rather leave it empty than estimate it.
The XL size lets you drop DPI and aim from the arm, which is how you aim precisely in a tactical shooter: the more physical distance a 180° turn takes, the finer your micro-adjustments. The hybrid surface pairs well with the ultralight mouse typical of Valorant.
The constant glide and X/Y uniformity help long camera swings. If you play on a controller it's still a good desk mat, though then the argument is comfort rather than performance.
Plenty of room for the fast turns of PvP and a rubber base that doesn't move however hard you yank it. Mind the manufacturer's warning: this surface is sensitive to skin oils and needs cleaning.
Large format, restrained price and a balanced surface: probably the most versatile pad in this selection for someone who plays a bit of everything and also uses the desk to study or work.
Ideal for: Someone who plays a bit of everything and wants a large, balanced pad that doesn't force a choice between speed and control.
Reviews agree on a smoother, more consistent glide than generic pads, with several buyers reporting steadier aim. There's also the observation that it's slightly thicker and slower than other thin pads, and the odd reference to keeping the surface clean.
